Here’s the Truth About Hiring a Roofer in Arcola TX, and How Holden Roofing Changes It
Greater Houston supports thousands of roofing outfits, and once a Gulf storm passes, a fresh wave of out-of-town crews rolls down SH 6 toward Arcola. It happened after Beryl in July 2024, and again when hail fell near Fifth Street in May 2026.
The pattern rarely changes. A salesman parks at the curb in Glendale Lakes, asks for a signature on a clipboard, and is unreachable by the time a stain spreads across the living room ceiling the following spring.
So how does an Arcola homeowner tell a real roofer from a seasonal one when every truck on FM 521 has a ladder rack?
By asking sharper questions. Next come the three traps that catch Arcola homeowners most often, the Arcola-specific question that flushes each one out, and how Holden Roofing responds. After that, seven questions Arcola callers put to us before they ever book a visit.

Problem One: The Estimate Written From the Truck Window
A hailstone the size of a quarter leaves a bruise on an asphalt shingle you would need to be standing on the roof to find. Hail fell around Arcola in 2024, 2025 and 2026, and almost none of that damage shows from the street.
Some contractors still price a roof from the driveway and leave the details for the adjuster. When the adjuster finds less than promised, the homeowner absorbs the difference.
“Will You Walk Every Slope and Go Into My Attic Before You Quote?”
A bad answer sounds like “we can see enough from here” or a quick drone pass sold as a full inspection. Ask how long the visit takes. If the answer is ten minutes, it is a sales call, not an inspection.
How Holden Roofing Answers It
Yes, every slope and the attic too, with the photos sent to you before the project manager leaves. Holden Roofing inspectors chalk test squares, photograph vents, gutters and flashing, and check the underside of the decking for water stains and soft spots.
When the roof turns out to be sound, we say so. A healthy roof gets a healthy report, and no one tries to sell you a new one.
“We had several roofing companies providing quotes but Maynard with Holden was the only contractor to walk the rook and find the wind damage. He worked with our insurance company to ensure we were covered.”
Phil Conway, 5 stars, October 2020. Read this review on Google →

Problem Two: The Contractor Who Disappears After a Denial Letter
Gulf Coast carriers deny or underpay a large share of wind and hail claims, and a denial letter is exactly when a door knocker stops returning calls. Their whole pitch depended on an easy yes.
A first denial is rarely the final word on a legitimate claim. Insurers pay on evidence, and evidence takes work to build.
“If the Insurance Company Says No, What Happens Next?”
Good answers name real moves: asking the carrier to send someone back out, standing next to the adjuster up top, writing supplements, invoking appraisal. A shrug and “we’ll see how it goes” means that roofer has never fought for a claim.
How Holden Roofing Answers It
We climb back up when the carrier returns, photograph every hit and crease, and keep the file moving through a second inspection, supplements or appraisal whenever the proof holds up. When it does not, you hear that from us first, before you spend months chasing it.
Holden Roofing’s Fort Bend project managers worked claims after Harvey, after Beryl and through each hail spring since, and a few of those files took years to close in the homeowner’s favor.
“We had been working on getting our roof replaced for 5 years and had been turned down multiple times by our insurance provider. He assured me he wouldn’t give up after hearing no and he didn’t!”
Emily Chambers, 5 stars, June 2022. Read this review on Google →

Problem Three: The Crew That Skips the City of Arcola Roof Permit
Arcola is an incorporated city, and its permit office lists a dedicated roof permit for any roof replacement or significant roof repair. A crew that skips it saves itself a step and leaves the problem with you.
Unpermitted work can surface when you sell, refinance or file the next claim. And a roofer who cuts the paperwork corner usually cuts the nailing corner too.
“Whose Name Is on the Arcola Roof Permit, Yours or Mine?”
“You don’t need one out here” or “just pull it yourself” are both bad signs. Follow up by asking who backs the installation itself, the contractor alone or the shingle manufacturer.
How Holden Roofing Answers It
Holden Roofing applies for the City of Arcola roof permit through the city’s Online Permit Portal and schedules tear-off only after it is issued. A re-roof in Arcola needs no drawings, so the permit rarely slows the job.
The installation follows the full Owens Corning system, which is what qualifies an Arcola roof for Platinum Protection, the warranty that covers our labor as well as the shingles.
Seven Things Arcola Families Want Answered Before Any Roofer Gets the Job
These are the questions Arcola callers ask most, in their own words, answered the same way our project managers answer them at the kitchen table. If a contractor dodges any of them, that dodge is your answer.
“Does the City of Arcola Make Me Pull a Permit for a New Roof?”
Yes, inside city limits. The city’s permit FAQ lists re-roofing first among projects that need a permit. Holden Roofing files it online and pays it as part of your job, and homeowners in a hurry get one less errand. Out in the ETJ, county rules apply instead.
“My Mail Says Arcola, but My Tax Bill Says Brazoria County. Does That Change Anything?”
It can. Several Arcola-address neighborhoods, Sterling Lakes and Meridiana among them, sit across the line in Brazoria County. Holden Roofing confirms your county and permit authority before ordering materials, so the paperwork matches the parcel.
“Isn’t Rosenberg a Long Way From Arcola?”
Not really: about 27 miles, or 39 minutes, from First Street on clear roads. The route runs SH 36 to I-69, then SH 6 east past Missouri City and Sienna. Close enough that a leak call gets a same-week visit, not a next-month one.
“Our House in Arcola Farms Is Small and Older. Will You Still Come Out?”
Absolutely. Arcola Farms and Arcola Heights homes run roughly 1,200 to 1,350 square feet, and each one gets an identical free inspection, identical Owens Corning materials and a dedicated project manager, exactly like a 2,100 square foot new build.
“Can You Take Care of My Deductible for Me?”
No, and no legitimate Texas roofer will offer to. Texas lawmakers settled this in 2019: under House Bill 2102, swallowing, refunding or skipping a deductible is a Class B misdemeanor. A contractor who suggests it is gambling with your Arcola policy to win the job.
“Is There a Charge for the Inspection or Anything to Sign First?”
Neither. You pay nothing, you keep every photo we take, and no one hands you a clipboard on the porch. Read the findings and decide whenever you are ready.
“Are the Installers Your Own People?”
Yes. Company crews do the work, and a Holden Roofing project manager gives you a direct cell number. Statewide the payroll includes about 400 installers; plenty have a decade of roofing behind them, and a few have more than thirty years.
Run each contractor you are weighing through all seven. Then ring (281) 344-9083 and hold our answers up against theirs.
What You Actually Need From an Arcola Roofing Contractor, and Why Holden Roofing Is Built Around It
A workmanship problem on an Arcola roof usually takes several summers to show, so the roofer you hire has to be around when it does. Below is what to demand from any roofer, item by item, with the way Holden Roofing meets each one in Arcola.
A Shingle Manufacturer That Vouches for the Crew
Owens Corning hands out its Platinum Preferred tier only to contractors it invites, and fewer than 7 in every 100 of its Preferred Contractors make that cut. Holden Roofing is one of them, and there is no fee that buys the title.
Before inviting anyone, Owens Corning reviews how the contractor installs, how its customers rate it and how it does business. The Platinum Protection limited lifetime warranty can be registered by Platinum members alone.
What Platinum Protection Covers on an Arcola Home
Materials
While you own your Arcola home, Owens Corning backs Duration, Duration FLEX and its other qualifying shingles with a limited lifetime product warranty. Duration adds a 130 mph wind rating, which matters on a coastal prairie with nothing to slow a tropical storm.
Workmanship
The uncommon part is the labor coverage. If a Holden Roofing installer gets something wrong, Owens Corning backs the repair. An Arcola roofer without Platinum status cannot put that promise in writing.
A Fort Bend Company Since 1961, Still on First Street
In 1961 the Holden family put on its first Houston-area roofs, and Rosenberg’s First Street remains company headquarters. The name now hangs on seven Texas offices, from Spring and Dallas to Temple, Austin, San Marcos and San Antonio, and on more than 100,000 finished roofs.
Roughly 400 installers work statewide. The crew on your Arcola roof did not get hired the week the storm hit.
Homeowners Thank Project Managers by Name
Holden Roofing Houston’s Google profile shows 957 reviews, a 4.8 star average, and 902 five-star ratings. Scroll through and the same pattern repeats: homeowners naming the project manager who stuck with a claim until the final check arrived.
A No-Cost Inspection, Zero Paperwork, Photos You Keep
Every Arcola inspection from Holden Roofing is free, and the photo report goes to you without a contract attached. No porch signature, no pressure to commit. You learn what the roof needs first, then you choose.
Why Holden Roofing Is Seldom the Lowest Bid
On most Arcola bid sheets Holden Roofing will not be the cheapest number, and we are comfortable with that. Six fasteners in every shingle, fresh flashing, new boots on each pipe and a registered Platinum warranty simply add up to more than a four-nail job laid over old metal.
Plenty of reviewers mention a lower quote somewhere else. Then they explain what made them pick Holden Roofing anyway.
“Frank Kastl was extremely helpful in pointing out leaks and damage on my roof without any pressure. He handled all the insurance formalities. Frank was present during roof installation and inspected afterwards. Very professional. Thanks Frank.”
“Their quote was slightly higher than the other two quotes I received. After researching the shingles proposed and overall quote. The proposal was actually lower than the others. In the market for a new roof. Safe yourself the time. Make one call to Chance at Holden Roofing.”
How to Reach Holden Roofing From Arcola, and What Happens Next
From the First Street headquarters to Arcola is about 27 miles, close to 39 minutes when traffic is light. The drive heads north on SH 36, joins I-69/US 59 northbound, then follows SH 6 east through Missouri City and past Sienna before FM 521 and SH 6 lead into Arcola.
Busy weekdays on SH 6 add time, which is why Arcola visits get grouped together on the schedule.
Your Arcola appointment gets booked by our Rosenberg staff once you call or text (281) 344-9083, picture optional. You reach a roofing company, not a lead service reading from a screen.
The First Visit
Plan on photos of every slope, an attic check and one straightforward verdict for your Arcola home: fix, re-roof, or hold off for now. When a storm claim might be in play, you also get our read on whether the carrier is likely to approve it, before any claim is opened.

Roofing Services in Arcola: Retail Roofing and Storm Roofing From One Team
Holden Roofing handles both kinds of Arcola roofing work: the roof a homeowner pays for directly and the roof an insurance carrier funds after a storm. Either way you get one crew standard, one Owens Corning spec and one project manager.
Gulf weather often puts a retail re-roof and a storm claim on the same Arcola street in the same month, so one team does both.

Free Roof Inspection
Holden Roofing inspectors cover the open shingle field, every pipe and vent with its flashing, the ridge line, the deck’s underside as seen from the attic, and the gutters, screens and fences around your Arcola yard. The photos are yours. So is the decision about what to do next.

Roof Replacement
On an Arcola replacement, Holden Roofing takes the old roof down to the wood, swaps bad sheets, then builds back up: synthetic underlayment, ice and water barrier through each valley, new drip edge, new wall flashing, matched intake and exhaust vents and every Owens Corning shingle component.

Most single-story and two-story Arcola homes go from tear-off to dried-in within a single workday.
Install Day on an Arcola Street
The crew arrives early and protects flower beds, the AC condenser and anything near the eaves. Soft decking is replaced sheet by sheet before underlayment goes down. Shingles follow, and a magnet sweep of the yard, beds and driveway closes the day.

Roof Repair
On an Arcola roof, repair beats replacement when the trouble is confined to one area and the surrounding shingles are still sound: a cracked pipe boot, a few wind-lifted tabs, tired wall flashing, a leak at a vent stack.
Repairs get their own separate quote at Holden Roofing. Nobody uses a small leak in an older Arcola home as an opening to sell a full replacement.

Emergency Roof Repair and Tarping
Water dripping into the house gets a tarp and a temporary dry-in from Holden Roofing before more rain shows up. That keeps insulation, sheetrock and wiring dry, and Texas carriers generally want owners to stop the damage from spreading.
Every opening is photographed before the tarp covers it, so the claim keeps its evidence.
“They completed the job in 10 hours and did very good work. They had to replace about 8 sheets of roof decking, and they made it look easy. The Driftwood color looks great and is rated for 130 mph.”
Storm Roofing in Arcola
Hail Damage Roof Repair
From the lawn, an Arcola roof hides nearly all of its hail damage. Our inspectors hunt three clues up top: soft, bruised mats shedding granules, dimpled vents and gutters that tell how big the stones were, and seals torn loose by the gusts riding along with the hail.
Wind Damage Roof Repair
Gulf squall lines cross the flat prairie around Arcola with little to slow them, and a tab that lifted once tends to lift again. Holden Roofing tests the seal on each slope and ties the wind date to the claim so the carrier can match it to the weather record.
Hurricane and Tropical Storm Damage
Arcola is squarely inside the reach of Gulf hurricanes, and Beryl’s July 2024 winds showed how much a long night of gusts can loosen on an asphalt roof. Holden Roofing’s Fort Bend crews worked Beryl claims across the county for months afterward.
What the Adjuster Looks For
Creases across the tab
A straight crease line means the seal let go and the wind folded the shingle back. Adjusters count them slope by slope, so each one gets a chalk circle from us ahead of the visit.
Hits per test square
On hail claims the adjuster tallies impacts within a ten-foot by ten-foot box drawn on every slope. We lay out and photograph those boxes before the meeting.
Dents, screens and fences
Dimpled vents, gutters, downspouts, AC fins, torn screens and spattered fences confirm storm size and direction. Documented collateral damage belongs on the claim as well.
Storms, Hurricanes and Hail in Arcola: What Hit, When, and What It Did to Your Roof
Arcola grew up where SH 6 crosses FM 521, on Fort Bend County’s eastern edge, a stretch of flat coastal prairie with the Brazos off to the west and Brazoria County just south. Gulf moisture moves north over this ground with nothing to break it up.
So tropical storms, spring squall lines and hail-bearing cells sweep across the area with almost no resistance. Arcola averages over 50 inches of rain a year, and the Gulf hurricane season stretches from the first of June to the last day of November.
No state logs more major hail events than Texas, which has held that top spot eleven years running and recorded 902 such events in 2025.
The Storms Arcola Homeowners Still Ask Holden Roofing About
2015 to 2019
- May 26, 2015.
Golf ball hail, 1.75 inches, was reported in Fresno about 3 miles from Arcola.
- August 26, 2017.
During Hurricane Harvey a tornado struck Sienna, just west of Arcola, damaging as many as 50 homes. Days later, on September 1, the Richmond gauge on the Brazos peaked at 55.19 feet, its all-time high.
- February 26, 2019.
One-inch hail fell in Iowa Colony, roughly 4 miles from Arcola.
2024
- March 15, 2024.
Missouri City, roughly 8 miles north, reported one-inch hail, while Fifth Street, nearly 10 miles off, saw 1.5-inch stones.
- March 16, 2024.
Near Needville, on the far west side of the county, stones measured as large as 2.75 inches, between golf balls and baseballs.
- July 8, 2024: Hurricane Beryl.
The storm made landfall as a Category 1 close to Matagorda. Fort Bend’s strongest measured gust, 76 mph, came at Sugar Land Regional Airport, and the county’s power outages topped out at 353,292 customers.
Arcola’s mayor later said Beryl revealed substantial weaknesses in the city’s infrastructure, and the city moved to pursue drainage work and FEMA reimbursement.
2025
- May 5, 2025.
One-inch hail was reported in Fresno, about 5.5 miles from Arcola. It hit the neighbor, not Arcola itself, but storms like it rarely respect city limits.
2026 So Far
- February 14, 2026.
Sugar Land’s regional airport measured wind gusting to 67 mph.
- May 1, 2026.
Storms in the early morning left 1.25-inch hail on Fifth Street, some 6 miles from Arcola, and one-inch hail in Brookside Village, roughly 9 miles away.
Most of these storms struck next door to Arcola, not dead center. If your roof has gone uninspected since, a free visit settles it.
“Due to Beryl we were in need of roof replacement. In addition, we had some damage to garage doors, windows, wood flooring among other things. The folks from Holden Roofing (Stephen and Chance) were both extremely helpful in helping us arrange all the repairs… Holden left the job site CLEAN.”
What Those Storms Did to Arcola Roofs, Street by Street
The Old Town Core, Arcola Farms and Arcola Heights
Smaller homes, roughly 1,200 to 1,350 square feet, many on their second or third roof. Older decking that has taken water before is common. We inspect the boards from inside the attic and price replacement sheets individually in each estimate here.
2010s and 2020s Builder Homes in Glendale Lakes, Charleston Heights and Sterling Lakes
Saratoga Homes, KB Home, Meritage and Censeo built these neighborhoods, most around 1,900 to 2,100 square feet. Builder-grade shingles on busy hip and valley rooflines take the first damage when hail or Beryl-style wind comes through.
Acreage Homes and Rural Lots on Arcola’s Edges
Land parcels still come up around Arcola, and homes on open lots catch the full force of prairie wind. On these properties a Class 4 Duration FLEX roof or standing seam panels usually make the most sense, with matching metal for barns and shops.
How Holden Roofing Handles Your Arcola Insurance Claim
Inspection, a documented photo file, the adjuster meeting, a build that follows the approved scope, then depreciation recovery: thousands of Fort Bend storm claims have gone through that Holden Roofing routine. You remain the policyholder and the person making the claim.
What Holden Roofing adds is proof, so the insurer cannot overlook damage on your Arcola roof.
Five Steps From the Storm to the Final Check on an Arcola Claim
Step 1. The Full Property Inspection
Roof, attic and yard all get walked, and the findings land in a single photo report: test squares, creased tabs, dented metals and collateral items.
Step 2. A Plain Answer on Filing
We tell you whether the damage is likely to clear the carrier’s threshold. If it will not, our advice is to skip filing, since a denial on your history does you no good.
Step 3. On the Roof With Your Adjuster
Our representative is up top beside the adjuster, pointing to the damage slope by slope, so the written scope matches the roof.
Step 4. Checking the Scope and Filing Supplements
Missing decking, drip edge, ventilation or code-required items go back to the carrier as supplements, each supported by measurements and pictures.
Step 5. Build, Final Invoice and Depreciation
With the approved work finished, Holden Roofing bills the insurer and helps you recover the depreciation that was withheld at first.
When an Arcola Claim Comes Back Denied
Strong documentation turns plenty of denials around on a second look. An appraisal clause is standard in most Texas homeowner policies, so our reps regularly guide Arcola families through a fresh inspection, the appraisal process or a licensed public adjuster when one makes sense.
“I have been trying to get my roof replaced and/or repaired for several years. I was constantly being denied, although I knew my roof was in terrible condition. Then came a knock on my door… It was Jennifer Malone from Holden Roofing… Ms. Malone came through!! New roof and an added bonus…new gutters!!”
The Texas Deductible Law Every Arcola Homeowner Should Know
Under Texas House Bill 2102, law since 2019, no contractor may waive your deductible, rebate it to you or quietly absorb it. Doing so is a Class B misdemeanor, and the penalty can reach $2,000 plus up to six months in jail.
Your insurer is also allowed to demand proof of payment before releasing depreciation. Holden Roofing does not waive deductibles, period. Before tear-off you receive, in writing, the precise amount you will owe.

| Recoverable depreciation | Released after the final invoice | Nothing, if finished on time |
Shingle, Metal, Tile and Flat Roofing for Arcola Homes
Across Arcola, Holden Roofing puts on everyday architectural shingles and impact-rated Class 4 shingles, three kinds of metal, clay or concrete tile, and on low slopes, TPO, mod-bit or a coating.
A residential division and a commercial division share one standard, so the shingle roof on the house and the flat patio cover behind it get the same care.
| Roofing system | Typical installed cost | Lifespan on an Arcola roof | Gulf storm performance | Best fit in Arcola |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Owens Corning Duration architectural shingle | $9,000 to $26,000+ | 15 to 25 years | SureNail nailing zone, rated to 130 mph, StreakGuard fights algae | Glendale Lakes, Charleston Heights and most insurance re-roofs |

Duration
What the SureNail Strip Does
A woven fabric band sits exactly where the nails go. It keeps each fastener locked through years of Gulf Coast heat and backs Duration’s 130 mph wind warranty, a figure Arcola homeowners appreciate every hurricane season.
Duration FLEX
Duration FLEX starts with SBS polymer-modified asphalt that flexes under impact instead of cracking, and that flexibility is how it reaches UL 2218 Class 4, the top rating.
Inside the Class 4 Test
In the lab a steel ball 2 inches across falls 20 feet onto one spot, then again on that spot; any crack means failure. Texas law, Insurance Code Section 2253, says carriers must offer Class 4 owners a premium break, often 15 to 22 percent off wind and hail coverage in Houston and Fort Bend.
Over a few policy renewals, that discount can cover a real share of the upgrade on an Arcola home.
MetalMetal Roofing in Arcola
On open acreage near Arcola, metal stands up to prairie wind and may last as long as several shingle roofs in a row. Where an HOA governs the lot, Holden Roofing gets metal approved before ordering panels.
Already have metal that needs attention? Holden Roofing repairs existing metal roofs too, with the work broken out clearly.
TileTile Roofing in Arcola
Our crews pull up the good tile, lay fresh high-temperature underlayment, set the tile back in place, swap out broken pieces and redo the metal where the roof meets walls and chimneys.
Low-slopeFlat and Low-Slope Roofing in Arcola
When the insulation below is still dry, a worn flat roof can usually be stretched several more years with silicone or acrylic, for far less than replacing it.
“Holden roofing did a great job on the standing seam roof on our new house. Ryan Joyce was very helpful in walking me through the details of the roof materials and installation process since that was the first time I’ve dealt with one. The crew was courteous and quick! It’s beautiful!”
“Holden Roofing did an amazing job repairing my metal roof. They provided a thorough quote with pricing broke out for immediate repairs needed and maintenance that could be completed at a later date.”
What a New Roof Costs in Arcola in 2026
For most Arcola houses, a 2026 architectural shingle re-roof costs $9,000 to $26,000+; roof size, pitch, the number of layers torn off and the amount of bad decking explain most of that spread.
Arcola homeowners choosing Class 4 Duration FLEX should expect $11,000 to $30,000+, while clay or concrete tile costs $25,000 to $58,000+. Standing seam metal sits between, at $18,000 to $43,000+. Repair work falls between $1,200 and $8,500+.
| Arcola home profile | Approx. roof size | Asphalt shingles | Standing seam metal | Tile roofing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Older single story, about 1,200 to 1,350 sq ft, Arcola Farms or Arcola Heights | About 15 to 19 squares | $9,000 to $14,500+ | $18,000 to $26,000+ | $25,000 to $35,000+ |

What Moves an Arcola Price Up or Down
Each Arcola proposal from Holden Roofing itemizes removal, decking by the sheet, underlayment, valley membrane, starter course, shingles, ridge cap, drip edge, vents and the City of Arcola permit. When a competing Arcola quote comes in thousands under, find out which part went missing.
Older homes with layered roofs or tired decking land higher in each range, while newer single-layer builder roofs usually sit lower.

Arcola Homeowners on Holden Roofing: 957 Reviews, 4.8 Stars
Go through the 957 Google reviews and a few themes return again and again: quick help when water is coming in, a project manager who sees the claim through, and a property left in better shape than the crew found it.
“Patched the Same Day, Fixed Right Afterward”
“I just had surgery, and during a rain storm I had a leak. I didn’t have anyone that could help me at the time. Maynard came out to my house that same day and patched up what was causing the leak until they could come and do the total repair when the weather allowed. They also did an inspection on the entire roof.”
“Everything went according to plan! Done on time, property was respected and tarped. Jennifer Malone was a great help explaining insurance issues, scheduling workers, and reminding us about things that made the whole process go smoothly. Top of the line material was installed!”
“Even New Decking on an Older House”
“Scott with Holden Roofing helped us get through the mess left by a wind and hail storm. He led the charge to guide me through all the insurance headaches to make sure we got everything due to us…even new decking on my 25 year old house. He gave me his cell number and was always responsive and well-informed.”
“Honest Enough to Say the Roof Was Fine”
“Scott Merrill, a senior consultant with Holden Roofing, inspected our roof and while finding the roof in very good condition (appreciate the honesty!), did notify us that squirrels had attacked our roof vents eating at the aluminum coverings. He provided a very reasonable estimate for the cost to do the work and a three year warranty for work and materials.”

Arcola Neighborhoods and Subdivisions Holden Roofing Serves
Arcola counted 2,034 residents at the 2020 Census, up from 661 when it incorporated in 1986, and its mailing area reaches well past city limits. Holden Roofing works every part of it, from the historic SH 6 corridor to the newest builder sections.
Several of these, including Meridiana, Caldwell Ranch, Canterra Creek and Sterling Lakes, carry Arcola addresses but sit in Iowa Colony or Rosharon on the Brazoria County side.
Nearby Service Areas
Fresno
Arcola’s closest neighbor to the north, where golf ball hail fell in 2015 and one-inch hail in May 2025.
Sienna
West across the fields, with its southern villages inside Arcola’s ETJ and some homes using Arcola mailing addresses.
Needville
Farther west in Fort Bend County, where March 16, 2024 brought hail up to 2.75 inches.
Missouri City
Up SH 6 toward Sugar Land, with one-inch hail reported on March 15, 2024.
Roof Permits in Arcola
Inside City of Arcola limits, a re-roof needs a city building permit. The city’s FAQ puts “Re-roofing or re-siding a structure” at the top of its permit list, and the permit page offers a dedicated Roof Permit for replacement or significant repair.
Applications and fees go through the city’s Online Permit Portal, and reroofing requires no plans. Questions go to the Permits and Inspections Department at City Hall, 13222 Highway 6, (281) 431-0606 Ext. 3. Holden Roofing handles the filing.
Homes in Arcola’s ETJ or unincorporated areas fall under Fort Bend County Engineering (281-342-3411), which does not list re-roofs among its permits. Brazoria County parcels follow that county’s rules, and newer subdivisions add HOA approval, which Holden Roofing also files.
Storm Chasers Knock in Arcola Too. Here’s How to Tell Holden Roofing From the Rest
Some Holden Roofing reps knock on Arcola doors after certain storms, and we prefer you learn that from us. Few owners realize hail reached their shingles, and a free inspection is the only reliable way to know while the reporting window is still open.
What sets Holden Roofing apart from traveling crews is everything that happens after the knock.
- A headquarters you can visit. Ours stands on First Street in Rosenberg, the same Fort Bend County Arcola belongs to. Ask the stranger at your door where his office is.
- A credential you can look up. Holden Roofing appears at the Platinum Preferred level on Owens Corning’s own find-a-contractor tool. A vinyl truck wrap proves nothing.
- Reviews that predate the storm. 957 Google reviews stretched across many hurricane and hail seasons, not a handful from last month.
- Your deductible stays your deductible. An offer to cover it violates HB 2102 and previews how loosely that crew would run everything else.
- A permit pulled in the right name. In Arcola city limits the roof permit is required. A crew that skips it is skipping other things too.
- Crews employed all year. Roughly 400 installers draw a Holden Roofing paycheck in every season, not just the week after hail.
“I called Holden Roofing in the evening right after a hail storm. I wanted a roofing company that has been around for a long time and not a storm chasing roofing company. Stephen Stark called me the next morning to schedule an inspection. He showed up early and was very thorough in his inspection. He took care of filing the claim and meeting with the adjuster.”
Frequently Asked Questions About Hiring a Roofer in Arcola TX
Call (281) 344-9083
What does a roofer in Arcola TX charge to replace a roof?
For most Arcola houses, architectural shingles cost $9,000 to $26,000+ in 2026. Impact-rated FLEX: $11,000 to $30,000+. Standing seam panels: $18,000 to $43,000+. Clay or concrete tile: $25,000 to $58,000+.
Repairs run $1,200 to $8,500+. Holden Roofing provides a free inspection and an itemized written estimate.
Did Hurricane Beryl damage roofs in Arcola?
Beryl swept the whole county on July 8, 2024; the Sugar Land airport clocked 76 mph, and Fort Bend outages climbed past 353,000 customers. Arcola’s mayor said the storm exposed weaknesses in city infrastructure. No street-level roof count was published, so an inspection is the way to know.
Is Arcola in the Texas windstorm (TWIA) catastrophe area?
Arcola’s Fort Bend County homes are not, because TDI left Fort Bend County out of its designated catastrophe area. Brazoria County is inside it, so an Arcola-address home that is actually in Iowa Colony or Rosharon may fall under it. Holden Roofing confirms your county first.
What if my Arcola home is in the ETJ instead of city limits?
Then the City of Arcola permit does not apply, and Fort Bend County Engineering does not list re-roofs among its permit types. Your HOA, if you have one, may still require approval, and Holden Roofing prepares and submits that request.
When was the last hail near Arcola?
On May 1, 2026, Fifth Street recorded 1.25-inch hail, about 6 miles away, with one-inch stones in Brookside Village. Before that, Fresno logged one-inch hail on May 5, 2025. A free inspection shows whether any of it reached your roof.
Are Class 4 shingles a good choice for an Arcola home?
Usually, yes. Section 2253 of the Insurance Code requires Texas carriers to offer Class 4 roofs a premium credit, and local savings commonly land between 15 and 22 percent on the wind-hail portion. FLEX also resists the hail that keeps falling near Arcola.
How many days will my Arcola re-roof take?
One day for most Arcola shingle roofs, sometimes a second day on large or steep two-story homes. Metal and tile take two to five days. We never open more roof than the crew can seal up before leaving.
Why does Owens Corning Platinum Preferred status matter?
Platinum is Owens Corning’s top contractor tier, and under 7 percent of its Preferred roofers get invited in. For an Arcola homeowner that means access to Platinum Protection, the limited lifetime warranty that backs the crew’s labor as well as the shingles.
