Here’s the Truth About Hiring a Roofer in Pecan Grove TX, and How Holden Roofing Changes It
The Houston area has thousands of roofing companies, and after Hurricane Beryl a good share of them seemed to be parked on Plantation Drive. County leaders named Pecan Grove one of the hardest hit neighborhoods in Fort Bend, and that kind of headline draws trucks from every direction.
Plenty of those crews were gone by fall, and so were the phone numbers on their yard signs. The homeowners they left behind still had a warranty, on paper.
So how do you tell the roofer who will be here in 2035 from the one who left in 2024?
You ask the right questions. Here are the three traps Pecan Grove homeowners fall into most, the question that exposes each one, and how Holden Roofing answers it. After that, seven questions we hear on almost every first call from 77406, answered plainly.

Problem One: The Roofer Who Patches the Hole and Ignores What the Limb Did Underneath
When a pecan limb drops onto a roof, the hole in the shingles is the smallest part of the damage. The weight of that wood can crack decking, bend rafters and break seal strips on shingles ten feet away from the impact.
A quick patch over the puncture looks fine from the street. Then the first long summer rain finds the cracked sheet beside it.
“Will You Check the Decking and Rafters Under the Impact, Not Just the Shingles?”
If the roofer plans to tack down a few shingles without opening the area or going into the attic, he is fixing what you can see and leaving what you cannot.
How Holden Roofing Answers It
We go into the attic, look at the framing from below, and open the damaged area until we reach sound wood. Every cracked sheet and bent rafter gets photographed for your claim before anything is replaced.
If the damage runs wider than a repair can cover, you hear that on day one, with photos that show why.
“I attribute the insurance company paying for our roof and decking to Thomas’ knowledge and expertise. He was so thorough in showing the damage and making sure nothing was missed.”
Brady Kelley, 5 stars, May 2022. Read this review on Google →

Problem Two: The Roofer Who Gives Up When the Carrier Says “Repair Only”
After Beryl, plenty of Fort Bend homeowners got a letter calling serious wind and tree damage a simple repair. The first contractor read that letter, shrugged and moved on to the next driveway.
A repair-only decision is a starting position, not a final answer. The evidence on your roof decides how it ends.
“If My Insurer Calls It a Repair, What Do You Do Next?”
A good answer names real steps: a re-inspection request, a rep on the roof with the adjuster, a documented supplement, an appraisal demand. A vague “we can try” means the roofer has never pushed back on a carrier.
How Holden Roofing Answers It
We build a file the adjuster cannot wave off: photos of every slope, measurements, attic shots and the wind data for the day it happened. Then a Holden Roofing rep stands on the roof with the adjuster and walks through it.
If the evidence does not support a full replacement, we say so plainly and quote the repair.
“Chris was present at the time my insurance claims adjuster showed up for the inspection, and ended up catching a few critical errors in the Claims Adjusters estimate.”
Curtis, 5 stars, May 2019. Read this review on Google →

Problem Three: The Lowball Bid on a House Built in the 1980s
The median Pecan Grove Plantation home was built around 1986, which means most of these houses are on their second or third roof. Older decking, tired ventilation and flashing that has been reused once already all hide under the shingles.
The cheapest bid usually prices none of that. The surprise shows up on the change order, after the old roof is already in the dumpster.
“What Happens If You Find Bad Decking Once the Old Roof Is Off?”
Ask for the per-sheet decking price in writing before you sign. A roofer who will not name that number is planning to name it later, when you have no choice.
How Holden Roofing Answers It
You see the per-sheet decking price on the estimate before you sign, and you see photos of every sheet we replace. No guessing, no surprise invoice.
Then the full Owens Corning system goes on that sound deck: synthetic underlayment, valley ice and water shield, new drip edge, new pipe boots and balanced ventilation. That qualifies the roof for Platinum Protection, which backs our workmanship as well as the shingles.
The Seven Questions Pecan Grove Homeowners Ask Before They Let a Roofer on the Ladder
These come straight from first calls out of 77406, asked the way homeowners ask them, with the answers Holden Roofing gives every time. If a roofer you are talking to stumbles over any of them, keep looking.
01“Is Pecan Grove in Richmond, and Does That Change the Permit?”
Usually not, but it depends on your address. Most of Pecan Grove is unincorporated Fort Bend County, where the county does not list re-roofing among its permits. Some southern pockets sit inside Richmond city limits, so Holden Roofing checks your lot first.
02“Does the Pecan Grove POA Need to Approve My Roof?”
Yes, exterior changes go through the Pecan Grove Plantation Property Owners Association. Holden Roofing helps you pick an approvable color, assembles the request and waits for the approval before a single shingle comes off.
03“A Pecan Limb Just Punched Through the Shingles. How Fast Can You Cover It?”
Yes, that is the first job. A Holden Roofing crew photographs the damage, clears the debris and dries in the opening so the attic and ceilings stay dry. The full repair or replacement comes once the claim is moving.
04“My House Is From the 1980s. Is the Decking Still Good?”
Often yes, sometimes no, and you will know before you sign. We check the deck from the attic during the free inspection and put a per-sheet price in writing, so any soft or delaminated plywood is a known number, not a surprise.
05“How Long Does It Take You to Get Out to Pecan Grove?”
About 16 minutes. Our Rosenberg headquarters at 2128 First Street is roughly 8.7 miles away by US 90A and FM 359, so a project manager can be on your roof within days and back quickly if anything needs a second look.
06“Will You Knock My Deductible Off If I Sign Today?”
No, and a roofer who suggests it is inviting you into a crime. Since 2019, Texas House Bill 2102 has treated a waived or absorbed deductible as a Class B misdemeanor, which can mean a $2,000 fine and six months behind bars.
07“Is the Inspection Really Free, or Is There a Catch?”
It is really free, and there is no contract to sign first. You keep the photo report whether you hire Holden Roofing or not. If the roof is fine, that is exactly what we will tell you.
Run every roofer you are weighing through this same list of seven. Afterward, dial (281) 344-9083 and compare how Holden Roofing handles them.
What You Actually Need From a Pecan Grove Roofing Contractor, and Why Holden Roofing Is Built Around It
A roof in Pecan Grove has to handle Gulf hurricanes, spring hail, falling limbs and more than 50 inches of rain a year, so the company behind it has to last longer than the storm season. Here is what matters, and how Holden Roofing delivers it.
An Installer the Shingle Manufacturer Will Put Its Name Behind
Holden Roofing holds Owens Corning’s Platinum Preferred status, an invitation-only tier that fewer than 7 percent of Owens Corning Preferred Contractors reach. It cannot be bought or applied for.
Owens Corning extends it after reviewing installation quality, customer feedback and how a company does business, and only Platinum contractors may offer the Platinum Protection limited lifetime warranty.
What Platinum Protection Means for a Pecan Grove Home
Materials
Duration, Duration FLEX and the other eligible Owens Corning lines come with a limited lifetime material warranty, and Duration adds 130 mph wind coverage thanks to SureNail. Beryl’s 76 mph gust at the Sugar Land airport shows why that headroom matters here.
Workmanship
Platinum Protection goes beyond the product and covers how it was put on. If a Holden Roofing crew made an installation error, Owens Corning stands behind the repair. Contractors outside the Platinum tier simply cannot offer that coverage.
A Family Company That Started Roofing in the Houston Area in 1961
The Holden family began roofing Houston-area homes in 1961, and the company’s headquarters is still here in Fort Bend, on First Street in Rosenberg. Owner Brett Holden runs seven Texas offices that together have replaced more than 100,000 roofs.

Roughly 400 installers work across the state, many with ten or more years on roofs and some past thirty. The crew on your Pecan Grove roof is not a pickup crew from out of state.
Reviews From Your Own Neighborhood
Holden Roofing Houston averages 4.8 stars on Google, and 902 of its 957 reviewers left the full five. At least one comes from right here in Pecan Grove Plantation.
A Free Inspection, a Photo Report, and No Pressure
Holden Roofing inspects your Pecan Grove roof at no charge and hands you every photo, with nothing to sign first. You get the honest condition of the roof, the attic and the gutters. What you do with it is your call.
The Honest Weakness: Holden Roofing Is Not the Low Bid
If you collect five quotes for a Pecan Grove roof, Holden Roofing will rarely be the cheapest, and we are fine with that. Six nails per shingle, new flashing and boots, full ventilation and a registered Owens Corning warranty cost more than shortcuts do.
Homeowners who shopped around tell us why they still chose us.
“Holden roofing is one of the best companies I have come across in the Houston area. Their crew is very professional and the work impeccable. My husband and I were in process of selling our home and we were able to sell for higher with the brand new roof! I would definitely recommend this company as they stand by their work and the owner Mr. Holden is there for you every step of the way!! Eeman Lotia Pecan Grove Plantation”
“Excellent experience all around with Holden. I talked to at least 12 companies over the course of a year before deciding that Holden was our choice. They were patient, helpful, and displayed total professionalism at every step of the process. They use their own in-house crews with no outsourcing, which was a BIG plus to me.”
How to Reach Holden Roofing From Pecan Grove, and What Happens Next
Holden Roofing’s headquarters at 2128 First Street in Rosenberg is about 8.7 miles from the middle of Pecan Grove, roughly a 16 minute drive. The route runs east on US 90A through Richmond, north on FM 359, then onto Mason Road and the neighborhood streets.
Call (281) 344-9083 or text a photo, and a Holden Roofing project manager from that office sets up your free inspection. You talk to a person who knows the neighborhood, not a call center reading a script.
The First Visit
Your project manager walks every slope, checks the attic and looks at the gutters, screens and fence for storm marks. A few days later the photos are in your hands, with a plain recommendation: fix it, replace it, or leave it be.
If a claim is likely, you also hear whether the damage is strong enough to justify filing before you ever call your carrier.

Roofing Services in Pecan Grove: Retail Roofing and Storm Roofing From One Team
Some Pecan Grove roofs are simply old and ready to go. Others got hit by Beryl, a falling limb or a spring hail cell. Holden Roofing handles both with the same crews, the same Owens Corning system and the same project manager from start to finish.
Most contractors lean toward one side. Fort Bend weather makes you need both.

Most Pecan Grove homes are torn off, dried in and shingled in a single working day.
What Install Day Looks Like on a Pecan Grove Street
The crew arrives early and covers shrubs, flower beds, the pool and the AC units. Old shingles come off one slope at a time, and decking gets checked sheet by sheet. Once the new roof is on, magnets sweep the lawn, driveway and beds for loose nails.

Roof Repair
Repair is the smart move when the trouble is confined to one spot and the roof around it is still healthy: a handful of lifted tabs, a split pipe boot, a weeping skylight or tired wall flashing.
That repair gets its own price, separate from any replacement quote. You will never be talked into a whole roof to solve a small leak.

Emergency Roof Repair and Tarping
When a limb or a storm opens your roof, Holden Roofing dries it in before the next rain band arrives. A tight tarp keeps water off the insulation, drywall and wiring, and Texas policies generally ask homeowners to stop further damage once they know about it.
We photograph each opening before covering it, so your claim does not lose its proof under blue plastic.
“A tree near my house had broken and fell on, and through my roof and into a bathroom. Holden Roofing did an excellent job of repairing the damaged roof and internal damage. They removed the existing roof and installed a beautiful new roof all in one day! Afterward they cleaned up the yard and driveway, ensuring that no nails were left on the ground.”
Storm Roofing in Pecan Grove
Hail Damage Roof Repair
Hail leaves three kinds of marks on a Pecan Grove roof, and the most important one is invisible from your driveway. Holden Roofing documents bruised shingles with granule loss, dented vents and gutters that prove stone size, and cracked seal strips from the wind that rode in with the storm.
Wind Damage Roof Repair
A shingle that wind has peeled back once has lost its seal and will lift again in the next blow. Holden Roofing checks seal strips across every slope, ties the damage to the dated wind event and documents it as the insured loss it is.
Hurricane and Tropical Storm Damage
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and Pecan Grove has felt what it can do. Beryl came ashore near Matagorda on July 8, 2024 as a Category 1, and Fort Bend lost power to more than 353,000 customers at the peak.
In Pecan Grove the trees did as much damage as the wind. Holden Roofing runs hurricane claims from its Fort Bend headquarters every season.
What the Adjuster Looks For
Creased and missing shingles
Adjusters look for shingles folded back along the nail line and for bare spots where tabs tore off entirely. Holden Roofing marks and photographs each one by slope before the adjuster arrives.
Impact damage from limbs and debris
Punctures, cracked decking and dented ridge vents from falling wood are covered damage. Holden Roofing photographs them from the roof and from the attic so the adjuster sees both sides.
Interior and collateral damage
Ceiling stains, wet insulation, bent gutters and broken fence panels belong in the same claim. When they are documented with the roof, the carrier pays to repair them as well.
Storms, Hurricanes and Hail in Pecan Grove: What Hit, When, and What It Did to Your Roof
Pecan Grove covers about 8.8 square miles of Fort Bend coastal prairie, with the Brazos River along its southwest edge and a perimeter levee with a hike-and-bike trail around the community. Gulf moisture rolls in off the coast all year, feeding tropical storms in summer and hail cells in spring.
That same river once forced an evacuation, and the trees that give the place its name turn into missiles when the wind gets strong enough.
For eleven straight years Texas has topped the country in major hail events, logging 902 of them in 2025 alone. Add Fort Bend’s 50-plus inches of yearly rain and any gap in a roof gets found fast.
The Storms Pecan Grove Homeowners Still Call Holden Roofing About
2017: Hurricane Harvey
- August 28, 2017.
Fort Bend emergency managers ordered a mandatory evacuation of Pecan Grove as the Brazos rose.
- September 1, 2017.
The Brazos River at Richmond crested at a record 55.19 feet, the highest reading on record there.
2019 to 2023
- April 13, 2019.
Hail of 1.25 inches fell at Mission Bend, about 6 miles away.
- May 9, 2019.
Baseball hail, 2.5 inches across, was reported in Cinco Ranch, close to 8 miles north.
- March 15, 2022.
Golf ball hail, 1.75 inches, struck Cinco Ranch, under 6 miles away.
- April 5, 2023.
Quarter-size hail fell inside Pecan Grove itself, the same day 1.5 inch stones landed near Falcon Landing Boulevard in Cinco Ranch.
2024: Hail in March, Then Beryl
- March 15, 2024.
One inch hail at Greatwood and in Sugar Land, and 1.5 inches near Fifth Street, all within about 10 miles.
- July 8, 2024: Hurricane Beryl.
County leaders called Pecan Grove one of the hardest hit neighborhoods in Fort Bend. Tall trees came down across the community, gusts reached 76 mph at Sugar Land Regional Airport, and more than 2.2 million CenterPoint customers lost power.
2025
No hail reports were logged anywhere in Fort Bend County in 2025. A quiet hail year is the right time to catch Beryl damage that never got properly fixed.
2026 So Far
- February 14, 2026.
A 67 mph gust was measured at Sugar Land Regional Airport, the nearest official station.
- April 30, 2026.
One inch hail fell in New Territory, about 4.5 miles from Pecan Grove.
- May 1, 2026.
Hail of 1.5 inches hit Sugar Land at Austin Parkway and Sweetwater Boulevard, roughly 8 miles away.
- May 9, 2026.
Quarter-size hail swept Cinco Ranch, under 6 miles north.
None of the 2026 hail landed inside Pecan Grove on record, but storms that close are worth a look. If no one has been on your roof since Beryl, start there.
“We had a terrible hail storm a few months ago, and we noticed our neighbors were getting new roofs. So we had Holden Roofing out to inspect our roof. Stephen Stark explained everything and showed us pictures of our damaged roof.”
What Those Storms Did to Pecan Grove’s Roofs, Section by Section
Original 1978 to 1990s Homes in the Pecan Grove Plantation Core
Construction began here around 1978, and the median home dates to 1986. These houses average about 2,700 square feet and sit under the oldest pecan and oak canopy, so limb strikes, clogged gutters and shaded algae streaks are common.
Many are on a second or third roof, and older decking deserves a careful look at every tear-off.
1980s and 1990s Homes in Pecan Lakes, Plantation Place and The Grove
Two-story homes with hips, dormers and plenty of penetrations. Beryl’s wind lifted shingles along ridges and rakes, and builder-era vents and pipe boots are usually brittle by now. Holden Roofing replaces every boot and vent on these roofs as standard.
Newer Homes in Terrace at Pecan Grove
Chesmar Homes added 91 houses here in 2018, so most are still on their first roof. Even young roofs can lose shingles in a hurricane, and owners who want a premium discount often move to Class 4 Duration FLEX when the time comes.
How Holden Roofing Handles Your Pecan Grove Insurance Claim
Holden Roofing inspects, documents, meets your adjuster, builds to the approved scope and helps you collect your held-back depreciation, on hurricane, wind, tree and hail claims across Fort Bend. The policy and the claim stay yours.
Our job is to make sure the carrier sees all of the damage the roof is showing.
Five Steps From Storm Damage to New Roof in Pecan Grove
Step 1. The Photo Inspection
A Holden Roofing project manager goes over the roof, the attic and the yard and builds a photo report covering each slope, every impact point and all the collateral damage.
Step 2. A Straight Answer on Whether to File
Before you call your carrier, you learn whether the damage is likely to clear its threshold. If it will not, we tell you to hold off, because a weak claim on your record does you no favors.
Step 3. Standing With the Adjuster
Your Holden Roofing rep meets the adjuster on the roof and points out every crease, puncture and hit, so the scope matches what is actually up there.
Step 4. Checking the Scope and Filing Supplements
Carriers sometimes skip decking, drip edge, ventilation and similar code items. When that happens, Holden Roofing sends a supplement with the photos and measurements to back each line.
Step 5. The Build and the Depreciation Check
We build to the approved scope, send the carrier the final invoice and help you recover the depreciation your policy held back until the work was finished.
When Your Pecan Grove Claim Gets Denied
A Beryl denial is rarely the final word, and some of the best reviews Holden Roofing has earned came from homeowners who heard no the first time. Texas policies usually carry an appraisal clause, and a second inspection with stronger evidence often changes the result.
Holden Roofing has walked Fort Bend homeowners through re-inspections, appraisals and, where needed, outside counsel.
“Frank Kastl with Holden Roofing was referred by a friend. Frank was very professional and assessed the damage to my roof and deck. I provided information about the denial by my insurance and Frank helped me with the next steps! Frank kept me in the loop and called to check on my progress with my insurance… It has been a year since Hurricane Beryl and I am grateful for Frank!”
Texas HB 2102 and Your Deductible
Under Texas House Bill 2102, on the books since 2019, a contractor who waives, rebates or eats your deductible is breaking the law. The offense is a Class B misdemeanor, carrying up to six months in jail and a fine as high as $2,000.
Carriers can also require proof that you paid your deductible before they release depreciation, so a “free roof” offer can cost you the rest of your claim.
Holden Roofing never offers to cover a deductible. We do show you your exact out-of-pocket number before work starts.

|---|---|---|
| Removing and hauling off the storm-damaged roof | Yes | Deductible only |

ShingleShingle Roofing With Owens Corning in Pecan Grove
Duration
The SureNail Strip
A band of woven fabric across the nailing zone gives each nail a stronger grip and backs Duration with a 130 mph wind warranty. Under a Gulf storm, the nail line is where a shingle wins or loses.
Duration FLEX
Duration FLEX is made with SBS polymer-modified asphalt that absorbs a hit instead of cracking, and it carries the top UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating.
How a Shingle Earns Class 4
The test: a 2-inch steel ball falls 20 feet and strikes one spot twice, and the shingle has to come through without a crack. Under Texas Insurance Code Section 2253, insurers must offer Class 4 owners a discount, often 15 to 22 percent off the Fort Bend wind and hail premium.
With hail landing in Cinco Ranch, New Territory and Sugar Land in 2026, more Pecan Grove owners are asking about FLEX.

“Holden was amazing and did a great job with our roof conversion from old tired comp shingles to a beautiful metal roof. Stephen, our rep, was super professional and kept us informed throughout every step of the project, going way above and beyond for us – arranging for new gutters, paint all stucco, facia and soffit, all under our Holden contract, not to mention working directly with our insurance company on a supplement!”
What a New Roof Costs in Pecan Grove in 2026
Expect $9,000 to $26,000+ for an architectural shingle roof on a typical Pecan Grove house in 2026. Where you land in that range depends on square footage, steepness, the number of old layers and how many deck sheets have gone soft.
Repair tickets fall between $1,200 and $8,500+, driven by the size of the damaged area and whether we have to open up the deck.
| Pecan Grove home profile | Roof size | Asphalt shingles (Owens Corning Duration) | Standing seam metal | Tile roofing |

What Moves the Number Up or Down
Holden Roofing’s estimates list tear-off, decking by the sheet, underlayment, ice and water shield, drip edge, starter, field shingle, hip and ridge, and ventilation as individual lines. If a rival quote is thousands cheaper, compare line by line and see what disappeared.
Heavy tree cover can add time for protecting the yard and cleaning debris from the valleys, and that shows on the estimate too.

Pecan Grove Homeowners on Holden Roofing: 957 Reviews, 4.8 Stars
Read through Holden Roofing Houston’s reviews and the same themes repeat: someone who stayed with the claim after the hurricane, a crew that finished in a day, and families who have called us back for decades.
“They Stuck With Us Through the Hurricane Claim”
“When last year’s hurricane hit, my roof was severely damaged, and what followed was a long and stressful insurance claim process. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without Mr. Stan Stark from Holden Roofing. He didn’t just give me an estimate and disappear; he was a partner throughout the entire ordeal.”
“Stan fought hard for roof replacement, holding the insurance company accountable for storm damage. Was dealing with an insurance company with bad reputation for paying out claims… He handled the claim which included needing the assistance of a public adjuster.”
“New Decking, New Roof, and a Clean Yard by Evening”
“We highly recommend John Tapia of Holden Roofing for your roofing needs. He helped us through all of the process of filing an insurance claim for hail and wind damage to our roof. We were able to get all new decking, roofing and gutters. His crew showed up promptly at 6:30am and started immediately stripping the shingles and removing the old decking. They did a great job and thoroughly cleaned up all debris from the yard and flowerbeds all in one day.”
“The Only Roofer We Have Called Since 1990”
“I have used Holden Roofing 3 times since I moved in my current home in 1990; two complete new roofs after hail damage and one repair after hurricane Harvey. Workmanship has been very good; friendly, honest and experienced sales people; and a great experience for me.”

Permits and Approvals for a Pecan Grove Re-Roof
Most of Pecan Grove is unincorporated Fort Bend County, and the county’s Engineering permit list does not include re-roofing. County permits cover floodplain work, new enclosed structures of 400 square feet or more, fill and right-of-way work, so a floodplain lot can still trigger a review.
Some southern pockets of Pecan Grove fall inside Richmond city limits and answer to the City of Richmond instead. Holden Roofing confirms by address whether your home is county or city and pulls any permit that applies.
The Pecan Grove Plantation Property Owners Association approves exterior changes, so plan for that sign-off on color or material changes.
Storm Chasers Knock in Pecan Grove Too. Here’s How to Tell Holden Roofing From the Rest
Holden Roofing reps do knock on doors after a big storm, and we would rather you hear that from us than from a neighbor. Most homeowners have no idea a roof is damaged until someone gets on it, and a free inspection is how you find out before the claim deadline passes.
What makes Holden Roofing different is everything that comes after the knock.
- An office down the road you can visit. Ours is on First Street in Rosenberg, at number 2128. Ask the other rep for his street address.
- A credential you can check yourself. Look Holden Roofing up in Owens Corning’s own contractor directory and the Platinum Preferred status is right there.
- Reviews older than the last storm. Holden Roofing Houston’s 957 Google reviews go back years, including Pecan Grove Plantation homeowners.
- No deductible games. Waiving a deductible is a crime under Texas HB 2102, and anyone who offers is showing you how the job will go.
- Nothing to sign on the porch. You get the inspection and photos before any agreement. A contingency contract pushed before the ladder comes off the truck is a warning sign.
- Crews on the payroll all year. About 400 installers statewide, not workers hired off a list the week of the storm.
“They inspected the roof, took pictures of damaged areas (Roof Sealing and Damaged Chimney) and gave me a fair estimate over email with absolutely no pressure sales.”
Frequently Asked Questions About Hiring a Roofer in Pecan Grove TX
Call (281) 344-9083
How much does a roofer in Pecan Grove TX charge to replace a roof?
For a typical 2,000 to 2,500 square foot Pecan Grove home in 2026, plan on $9,000 to $26,000+ for architectural shingle, $11,000 to $30,000+ for Class 4 Duration FLEX, $18,000 to $43,000+ for standing seam metal and $25,000 to $58,000+ for tile.
Repairs land between $1,200 and $8,500+. Your free Holden Roofing inspection comes with a written estimate broken out line by line.
Will insurance pay when a pecan tree falls on my roof in Pecan Grove?
In most cases, yes, when wind or a storm brings the tree down onto the house. The roof, decking and interior damage are usually part of the claim. Holden Roofing photographs the damage before tarping so your carrier sees the full picture.
Do Pecan Grove homes need a TWIA windstorm certificate for a new roof?
No. Fort Bend County is not in the Texas Department of Insurance designated catastrophe area, so Pecan Grove re-roofs do not need TWIA windstorm inspections. Holden Roofing still installs every roof to the 130 mph Owens Corning wind standard.
How long does a roof last under Pecan Grove’s tree canopy?
An architectural shingle roof typically lasts 15 to 25 years on the Gulf Coast, and heavy shade can push it toward the low end. Trapped moisture, algae and clogged gutters age shingles faster. StreakGuard shingles, clean valleys and trimmed limbs all help.
Are Class 4 shingles worth it for a Pecan Grove home?
Often, yes. Section 2253 of the Texas Insurance Code makes carriers offer Class 4 owners a premium discount, and in Fort Bend it commonly trims 15 to 22 percent from the wind and hail portion. Holden Roofing installs Duration FLEX when a homeowner wants Class 4.
How long does a roof replacement take in Pecan Grove?
One day, for most shingle roofs in Pecan Grove. Large, steep or double-layer roofs may stretch to two days, and metal or tile takes longer still. Holden Roofing never strips more roof than the crew can dry in before quitting for the day.
What does Owens Corning Platinum Preferred mean for my Pecan Grove roof?
It is the top rung of Owens Corning’s contractor program, reached by invitation and held by under 7 percent of its Preferred Contractors. Only a Platinum contractor such as Holden Roofing can register Platinum Protection, which backs the installation along with the shingles.
Has Pecan Grove had hail recently, and should I get my roof checked?
Quarter-size hail fell inside Pecan Grove on April 5, 2023, and in 2026 hail struck New Territory, Sugar Land and Cinco Ranch, all within about 8 miles. If your roof has not been inspected since Beryl or this spring, a free Holden Roofing inspection will tell you where it stands.
